Bemis & Call


On 18 April, 1834, Solymon Merrick was awarded a patent for his monkey wrench, patent No. X8,153.  Shortly thereafter, Lost Springfield, Massachusetts reports the patent was sold to Stephen C. Bemis of Bemis & Call.
