This ratchet has the model number stamped and Walden Worchester forged into the handle. On the reverse handle is forged Made in USA and the Moore Drop Forge mark.
There is a small D next to the Wizard name which is a mark for Duro
This ratchet is somewhat odd. It has a date stamp of "60" but the patent wasn't filed until 1962, and awarded in 1964. Additionally, the engaging pawl is significantly different than the production version, the ratchet is 1/4" shorter than the production version, and the ratchet head is a fair bit larger than the production version.
I believe this is from the late 50's. Has double sliding "block" pawls, kinda clunky. Very nice handle.
This ratchet has a very unique mechanism and appears to be quite rare. We've not seen another example of the ratchet and certainly no other examples of a similar mechanism. The ratchet is not smooth, but it seems incredibly strong exhibiting very distinct "clicks" while in use.
