This company is very difficult to locate information about. The 9 January, 1948 edition of The Dunkirk Observer reports the "Assumption of Name" for Yorktown Industries from Robert Fredrickson to Howard O. Dart. Mr. Fredrickson worked for the Lundell-Eckberg Mfg. Co. from about 1930 to 1939. Lundell-Eckberg appears to be a maker of window sashes. By 1942, Mr. Fredrickson is listed as a "toolmaker" at JPD Co. Given the geographic proximity, we are assuming JPD Co. is JP. Danielson. At some point between 1942 and 1948, Mr. Fredrickson must have either assumed ownership or created Yorktown Industries. In 1958, Howard O. Dart is listed as President and William Dart as VP. This listing from the Industrial Directory of New York, 1958 lists them as makers of tool boxes, stampings and cabinets. At some point during the 1970s, Yorktown Industries was acquired by MAC Allied. The company operated as a subsidiary into at least the mid 1980's, with Scott Darrah being listed as President.
No date code stampings have been found on Yorktown boxes that we are aware of.
